How to play

  • Tap the numbers and signs to build a calculation, or type it (use * and / if you like).
  • Use every number exactly once. Brackets are allowed, and the usual order of operations applies: × and ÷ before + and −.
  • The line under your calculation shows what it makes so far.
  • Stuck? A hint shows the first step of one solution, then the next. Or ask to see a whole solution and move on.

Example

With 1, 3, 4 and 6, one way to make 24 is (6 − 3 + 1) × 4. Another is 6 ÷ (1 − 3 ÷ 4). But 6 × 4 × 1 = 24 doesn't count, because the 3 is left over. Every number has to be used.

Fractions are allowed along the way

Some puzzles need a fraction in the middle. With 3, 3, 8 and 8, the only way to make 24 is 8 ÷ (3 − 8 ÷ 3). The fraction 1/3 appears inside, and the answer still comes out whole. Every answer is checked exactly, with no rounding.
